Sometimes a fresh reason to get out of the house is as simple as a new coffee counter or a chicken sandwich you have not tried yet. Around Kingston, this fall has brought both, along with a new place to settle in for an evening drink.

These three arrivals offer different ways to break out of the usual routine: a café-and-cocktail lounge in Uptown and two food businesses on Ulster Avenue. All have documented openings or opening celebrations during September or October 2026.

The Parlour: Uptown’s New Coffee-to-Cocktails Stop

Address: 1 Main Street, Kingston, NY 12401. Location: Uptown Kingston, city of Kingston.

The Parlour began its soft opening at 1 Main Street during the week covered by Kingston Wire’s September 25 report. It takes over the former Uptown Coffee space, giving a familiar address a different rhythm.

The business describes itself as a meeting point between a coffeehouse and a neighborhood bar. Espresso, cocktails, lower-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks, shareable food, art, and vinyl turntables help explain the idea without limiting it to one kind of visit.

That flexibility is the interesting part for local readers. A place that can work for a conversation over coffee may also suit a casual evening together, especially when different people at the table want different drinks.

Check the current menu and opening times before choosing your visit. A soft opening marks the beginning of service, while menus and routines can continue to develop.

Soho Eatery: A Choose-Your-Own Lunch

Address: 1304 Ulster Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. Location: Ulster Avenue corridor, town of Ulster (Kingston mailing address).

Soho Eatery held its soft opening on September 25, according to an October 5 local report. On the Ulster Avenue corridor, the new operation combines deli, market, espresso-bar, and hot-and-cold-bar elements.

Its pay-by-weight bar gives customers a different approach from ordering one fixed plate. You can choose a combination, while keeping an eye on how the weight affects the final price.

That makes Soho worth considering when a group cannot agree on the same lunch. Browse the available choices first, then ask staff about ingredients or dietary requirements before filling your plate.

YoYo Chicken: A New Sandwich Option

Address: 1304 Ulster Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401. Location: Ulster Avenue corridor, town of Ulster (Kingston mailing address).

YoYo Chicken celebrated its October 16 grand opening with a sandwich giveaway. The Kingston-area location joins the brand’s wider network of chicken kitchens.

Chicken sandwiches, wings, burgers, and combination meals were among the offerings highlighted in opening coverage. The practical draw is straightforward: another option when the plan calls for a quick, substantial meal.

Use the location’s current ordering page to check the menu and pickup details. Opening-day promotions should not be assumed to continue after the celebration.

One Important Geographic Detail

The Parlour is in the city of Kingston; Soho Eatery and YoYo Chicken are on Ulster Avenue in the town of Ulster, despite their Kingston postal addresses. This is a Kingston-area roundup, with that distinction kept clear.

Pick the stop that fits your day rather than trying to turn all three into a single itinerary. Trying a new business can be a small outing, and checking its current information helps make that first visit easier.

Soho Eatery sounds handy for lunch on Ulster Avenue, especially if everyone wants something different. I’m a little wary of pay-by-weight bars, though. It’s easy to put together a plate and realize at the register that it costs more than you expected. I’d like to know whether they post the price clearly by the food. Either way, I’m curious to see what they have.

I used to meet friends at Uptown Coffee, so I was curious what would happen with that space. The Parlour sounds like a good fit for 1 Main Street. Coffee in the afternoon and a drink later makes sense when nobody can agree on where to go. I’m glad they have alcohol-free options too. I’ll check the hours before heading over since they’re still getting settled.

Maria G.I miss Uptown Coffee too. It's nice to see the space being used again, and the alcohol-free drinks make it easier to meet up with everyone.
