YMCA of Kingston & Ulster County: More Than a Gym—A Community Hub |
Kingston's Broadway YMCA Offers Fitness, Youth Programs, Summer Camps, and Social Services for All Ages |

At 507 Broadway in Kingston, the YMCA of Kingston & Ulster County has been serving the community for over a century. But this isn't just a place to work out—it's a comprehensive community center offering programs that span fitness, youth development, summer camps, childcare, and social services.
The YMCA's mission is clear: creating a stronger, healthier, and more connected community. That mission plays out daily through diverse programming that serves everyone from toddlers to seniors, with a commitment to accessibility and inclusion.
Health & Wellness for Everyone
The YMCA offers extensive fitness facilities and programming including group exercise classes, personal training, massage therapy, and virtual classes. The facility features a pool for lap swim and open swim, water exercise programs, and certified lifeguard training. Swim lessons are available for all ages and skill levels.
For sports enthusiasts, the YMCA hosts adult basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and the Mid Hudson Valley Table Tennis Club. The facility operates with extended hours—Monday through Friday from 5 AM to 9 PM, Saturday 7 AM to 4 PM, and Sunday 8 AM to 2 PM.
Youth Programs and Summer Camps
The YMCA's youth programming is extensive. Camp Starfish, Camp Seewackamano, and Camp Wiltmeet provide traditional summer camp experiences. The YMCA also runs School's Out before and after-school programs, teen programs, and birthday parties. A unique offering is the Kingston YMCA Farm Project, which connects youth with agriculture and food systems.
The organization also operates bicycle programs and offers facility rentals for community events. Summer raffles fund youth camp scholarships, ensuring that financial barriers don't prevent kids from participating.
Community Impact
Beyond fitness and youth programs, the YMCA operates a Social Care Network that connects community members with resources and support. The organization hosts community events like the annual Tour de Kingston bike ride and community bike repair clinics. The YMCA also provides volunteer opportunities and relies on community donations to keep programs accessible.
The 2025 Impact Report highlights the organization's continued commitment to serving the Kingston community through financial assistance, scholarship programs, and outreach initiatives.
Get Involved
Membership options are available for individuals and families. The YMCA also welcomes volunteers, donors, and community partners. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify.0
