How to Choose the Right Shop
Consider Your Priorities
If you value personalized service and local relationships, Tony Minervini or Kingston Collision are excellent choices. If you prefer the resources and warranty backing of a national brand, Caliber or Gerber offer those advantages. If you drive a newer vehicle and want OEM parts, Romeo Collision Center is your best bet.
Check Insurance Compatibility
All five shops work with major insurance companies, but it's worth confirming your specific carrier is accepted. Some shops have direct relationships with certain insurers, which can speed up the claims process.
Get Multiple Estimates
Don't settle for the first estimate you receive. Most shops offer free estimates, and comparing them can reveal differences in repair approach, parts quality, and pricing. Caliber and Gerber both offer online estimate tools for convenience.
Ask About Turnaround Time
Repair times vary based on damage severity and parts availability. National chains like Caliber and Gerber often have faster turnaround due to their parts networks, but local shops may offer more flexibility for scheduling.
Read Recent Reviews
While all five shops have strong ratings, read recent reviews to get a sense of current customer experience. Pay attention to comments about communication, repair quality, and how the shop handled any issues.
The Bottom Line
Kingston has no shortage of quality auto body shops. Your best choice depends on your specific needs: the type of repair, your vehicle, your insurance situation, and your personal preferences for local versus national service. All five of these shops have proven track records and the expertise to get your vehicle back on the road safely.
Whichever you choose, don't hesitate to ask questions, request detailed estimates, and confirm warranty terms before authorizing work. A good auto body shop will welcome those conversations and provide clear answers.

Gerber having 502 reviews and still sitting at 4.9 is pretty hard to ignore. A lot of places with that many reviews end up averaging out much lower. I used Caliber on Ulster a while back and they were fine but the wait was longer than they told me upfront. Might give Gerber a shot next time.
Rachel_MSame experience at Caliber, they quoted me like 5 days and it ended up being closer to two weeks. Work was good but the communication in between was pretty lacking. Gerber on Cornell has been on my radar for a while, 502 reviews is a lot to fake.
Took my truck to Tony Minervini last spring after someone clipped me in a parking lot on Broadway. Honestly the best experience I've had with a body shop. Tony himself came out and walked me through the whole thing. Car came back looking better than before the accident. Good to see them on a list like this.
