Oppenheimer Dentistry: Same-Day Smiles and Affordable Care on Green Street |
For 24 years, this Kingston practice has combined cutting-edge mini dental implants with a commitment to accessible, stress-free dentistry |
Walking into Oppenheimer Dentistry at 185 Green Street in Kingston feels different from a typical dental office. The staff greets you by name. The atmosphere is calm, not clinical. And if you need a missing tooth replaced, you might walk out the same day with a brand-new smile.
Dr. Dennis Oppenheimer and Dr. Irina Kazbanov have built their practice around a philosophy that dental care shouldn't be a luxury. It should be accessible, affordable, and—dare we say—actually pleasant.
A Military Surgeon's Journey to Kingston
Dr. Oppenheimer's path to the Hudson Valley wasn't direct. After earning his DDS from Ohio State University, he completed post-graduate training in oral medicine at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He stayed in the capital area after military service, helping launch an 11-dentist practice. He practiced in New York City for years before moving to Kingston in 2002.
"When I came to the Hudson Valley, I wanted to build something different," Dr. Oppenheimer says. "A place where we could take the time we need with each patient, use the best technology available, and still keep our fees reasonable. That's not always easy, but it's what we believe in."
He later added another tool to his toolkit: certification in Medical Acupuncture from UCLA's David Geffen School of Medicine, giving him yet another way to help patients manage discomfort.
Same-Day Implants: A Game-Changer for Seniors
What sets Oppenheimer Dentistry apart is their specialty in mini dental implants—one of the most sought-after services for seniors struggling with loose dentures or missing teeth. Traditional implant procedures can take months and require multiple surgeries. Oppenheimer's team offers same-day mini dental implants topped with porcelain crowns.
"For someone who's been wearing dentures that slip, or who's embarrassed to eat certain foods in public, this is life-changing," Dr. Kazbanov explains. "They walk in, we place the implants, and they leave with a tooth that looks and feels natural. No waiting months. No multiple surgeries. One visit."
The practice also stabilizes dentures with mini implants, giving patients a secure fit that eliminates slipping and discomfort.
Mercury-Free and Minimal Radiation
Oppenheimer Dentistry is an amalgam-free office—no mercury fillings. All x-rays use digital technology with minimal radiation exposure. These decisions reflect a broader commitment to modern, patient-first care.
"We're not just thinking about teeth," Dr. Oppenheimer says. "We're thinking about the whole person. That means using materials and technology that are safe and effective."
Making It Affordable
Cost is often the barrier that keeps people from the dentist. Oppenheimer's practice accepts most insurance plans and offers alternatives: monthly installment plans, CareCredit dental loans, and all major credit cards. The goal is to make quality dental care accessible to the broadest possible range of patients.
"Dental work can be expensive," Dr. Kazbanov acknowledges. "But going without care is more expensive in the long run. We work with every patient to find a solution that fits their budget."
A Stress-Free Experience
Both dentists emphasize the human side of dentistry. "We never lose sight of YOU as our patient," is more than a slogan—it's the guiding principle. The staff is trained to make each visit as comfortable as possible, whether it's a routine cleaning or a complex implant procedure.
"People are nervous about the dentist," Dr. Oppenheimer says. "We get that. Our job is to make sure that by the time they leave, they feel heard, cared for, and actually looking forward to their next visit."
Built Here, Serving Here
For 24 years, Oppenheimer Dentistry has been part of Kingston's healthcare landscape. They're members of the American Dental Association, the New York State Dental Association, and the Third District Dental Society. But what matters most is their commitment to the community they serve.
"Kingston is home," Dr. Kazbanov says. "These are our neighbors, our friends. When we see someone walk in with a smile they're finally proud of, that's why we do this work."
