Kingston's Top 3 Antique Stores: Where One Person's Attic Sale Becomes Your Living Room Masterpiece |
From a 40,000-square-foot salvage warehouse to a 10,000-square-foot vendor hall to a two-floor consignment treasure hunt — here's where locals actually find the good stuff |

There are antique stores, and then there's Kingston. Somewhere between the bluestone sidewalks and the Rondout waterfront, this town became one of the Hudson Valley's genuine antiquing destinations — the kind of place where people drive two hours from the city and leave with a 1920s library table in the back of their SUV. If you've been looking for the three spots locals keep pointing each other toward, here they are.
Red Owl Collective
RedOwlCollective.com· 25 Cornell Street, Midtown Arts District · Open Wednesday–Monday, 11am–6pm · (845) 481-4675
Red Owl is the one people mean when they say, "You have to check out that one store." Ten thousand square feet of antique, vintage, and design pieces from over 85 individual vendors — which means you're walking through what feels like a mini-flea market under one roof. Mid-century modern furniture, vintage art, housewares, clothing. They won Chronogram Magazine's Readers' Choice Awards for #1 Antique Shop, #1 Vintage Clothing, and they also host a monthly outdoor Red Owl Flea during the warm months. It's where Kingston's creative class shops for things they can't find anywhere else.
Kingston Consignments
KingstonConsignments.com · 66 North Front Street · Open 7 days a week · Mon–Sat 10am–6pm, Sun 11am–5pm · (845) 481-5759
Two floors, and both are worth the climb. The ground floor is a well-curated general consignment shop — furniture, housewares, art, clothing — and the antique center on the second floor (plus the back of the ground floor) is where the dealer-curated pieces live: rugs, ceramics, collectibles, artwork, and furnishings that are curated enough to feel intentional but priced like a consignment shop instead of a gallery. They accept new merchandise constantly, which means there's always something new to find. Seven days a week makes this one of the most accessible stops on any Kingston shopping day.
Zaborski Emporium
Facebook.com/ZaborskiEmporium · 27 Hoffman Street · Open Wednesday–Saturday, 11am–5pm · (845) 338-6465
Forty thousand square feet. Five floors. Read that again. Zaborski Emporium is not a store — it's an architectural salvage kingdom. Original light fixtures, 19th-century cast-iron grates, salvaged doors and hardware, vintage signage, plumbing fixtures, and antiques of every kind you can carry out (and some you can't). It was once a Manhattan Shirt Company factory at the turn of the century, and the building itself is part of the experience. This is where restaurant owners come to outfit their spaces, filmmakers come to dress their sets, and anyone renovating an old house comes to find the real thing instead of the replica.
Plan Your Route
All three are within a few miles of each other in Kingston — Uptown, Midtown, and the Hoffman Street industrial corridor — which makes a Saturday antique crawl surprisingly doable. Start early, bring cash, and leave room in the trunk. You'll need it. |
